In the context of the 4EU+ programme, the University of Milan coordinates the European and

Comparative Legal Studies: between Globalization and Legal Tradition project which also involves

the Charles University of Prague, the University of Warsaw and the University of Copenhagen.

The project provides for 3 distinct teaching modules, which concern different aspects of the

relationship between the European integration process and national legal traditions, from the point of

view of comparative, European and criminal law.

The three modules, which can be attended individually, are structured as follows:

1) Constitutional Challenges in the EU (21 hours), starting from 1° March 2022. Chair: Prof.

Antonia Baraggia, Comparative Public Law.

2) Criminal justice, punishment and fundamental rights (21 hours). The module provides for

7 lessons of 3 hours each, which will take place in the months of April and May 2022 (the

dates are being defined). Chair: Prof. Stefano Zirulia, Criminal Law.

The course will include lectures by prof. Michal Królikowski, Warsaw University.

3) Fundamental Rights in the European Union (21 hours.). The lessons will take place in the

following dates: 7-8-9 June 2022(h. 9,00 -13,00) e 14-15-16 June 2022 (h. 9,00-12,00). Chair:

Prof. Ilaria Anrò, EU Law. The course will include two lectures by Prof. Tomas Dumbrovsky,

Charles University.

Modules 1) and 2) can be attended in presence, at the University of Milan as well as remotely on the

Teams / Zoom platforms. Module 3) can only be attended at the University of Milan in presence or

through the MS Teams platform.

The lessons will be in English. For further information on teaching topics and methods, see the page

of each module, published on the University website.

At the end of each module, 3 CFUs will be granted to students who have participated in all the

activities.

Each module can be attended by a maximum of 12 students who will be selected through the present

call. The activities of the modules also include short mobility periods for students at the partner

universities, funded by the project.

As part of the project, it is possible to participate in two courses given respectively at Charles

University in Prague and the University of Copenhagen:

1) Constitutional Review in Central European Context, held by Prof. Helena Hofmannová, at the

Charles University every Thursday from h. 10,00 to 12,00, starting from 17 February 2022 (the course
